Candidates will have to clear the Prelims or first Phase of the IBPS PO Exam 2025, in order to reach the Mains exam. This year the exam pattern has changed for both: Prelims and Mains. The preliminary exam is a 1-hour exam, divided by 20 minutes for each sections, which will be conducted in online mode. It has 3 sections, which invite a total of 100 questions carrying a total of 100 marks. The structure of the Prelims Exam, which will be conducted online, is as follows:

IBPS PO 2025 Mains Exam Pattern

The IBPO PO Main exam will also be conducted online. It will have 5 sections with a total score of 200+25 marks and total duration of 180+30 minutes. The candidates who will clear both the preliminary and mains examinations will become eligible for the interview process.

IBPS PO 2025 Personality Test

Candidates who qualify in the Main examination will be called for a Personality Test (self-report). Personality Profile of the candidates will be placed before the Interview panel. The Personality Test will be non-qualifying in nature. However, appearing in the Personality Test will be mandatory for being eligible to appear for the Interview process. 

IBPS PO 2025 Interview Process

Candidates who clear the Mains will be called for the interview, which will be conducted by the Participating Organisations and will carry a maximum of 100 marks. The minimum qualifying marks in the interview is 40% (35% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates). The interview is about 15-20 minutes long, where the panel members ask questions related to the candidates, the banking sector, current affairs, general awareness, etc. The candidates will have to carry all the required documents to the interview. Interviews will be conducted at selected centres. The centre, address of the venue, time & date of the Interview will be informed to the shortlisted candidates in the call letter. Candidates are required to download their interview call letters from the official IBPS website. The final merit list is prepared on the basis of marks obtained in the mains examination and interview. The final score is calculated by IBPS with a weightage of marks given to the main examination and interview in the ratio of 80:20, respectively. Candidates should qualify both in the Online Main Exam and interview, and be sufficiently high in the merit to be shortlisted for the subsequent provisional allotment process. All the related details will be made available subsequently on the official IBPS website.

What is the selection procedure for IBPS PO?

The IBPS PO selection is done in three stages: Prelims, Mains, and interviews. The candidates who will clear each stage will become eligible to be appointed as IBPS POs.

I am a graduate with less than 60% marks. Can I Apply for IBPS PO Exam? +

Yes, all graduates are applicable to apply for the IBPS PO exam. There is no required percentage to apply for IBPS PO.

Is there any negative marking for IBPS PO? +

Yes, there is a negative marking for every wrong answer given in the exam. 0.25 of the total marks allotted for that question will be deducted for marking a wrong answer.

Can an Engineering graduate apply for IBPS PO Exam? +

Yes, any candidate having a graduation degree can apply for the IBPS PO exam.

Is the IBPS PO exam Bilingual? +

All tests are bilingual, i.e., available in both English and Hindi.

Are there any fixed timings for different sections? +

Yes, Both in Prelims & Mains Exam.
