The IBPS has set some pre-requisites for the Probationary Officer (PO) post. IBPS PO Educational Qualification 2025
The educational qualification for IBPS PO 2025 is a graduation (Bachelor's) degree in any discipline from a recognized university. The graduation degree can be any degree, such as: BA, BCom, BE, BTech, B Arch., BSc., etc. The candidates who have obtained equivalent qualifications from a university that is recognised by the central government are also eligible. The Open University (which is recognized by the government), graduates are also eligible for the IBPS PO exam.
- Candidates who have Computer Proficiency skills are preferred for the post. While the candidates will be trained during the training period, a formal computer training certificate is not mandatory for the candidates.
- The Computer Knowledge in the educational background is good, but a basic understanding of computer software like MS Office is required.
- The candidates must be proficient in the local language of the state/UT they applied for.
IBPS PO Eligibility Percentage in Graduation
The IBPS PO does not mention any percentage requirement, and it only mentions a graduation degree. While some banks that come under IBPS may have their percentage criteria. IBPS PO exam is for anyone with a graduation degree in any stream and a minimum percentage. The marks of the online examination conducted by the IBPS PO authority are only considered for evaluation. Apart from this, the final year students in the Bachelor's degree program from a government-recognized university can also apply for the IBPS PO Exam.
Nationality
The candidates who want to apply for IBPS PO 2025 should fulfill some of the nationality criteria as mentioned below.
- A citizen of India.
- Person of Indian Origin (PIO)
- A Tibetan Refugee
- A subject of Nepal and Bhutan
- A Tibetan Refugee
- A Person who has migrated from some specific countries, such as Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, and East African countries, intending to permanently settle in India.

IBPS PO Eligibility Criteria Age limit 2025

The upper age limit relaxation for the IBPS PO is such that the SC/ST candidates can appear in the exam until they turn 35 (30+5) years old. IBPS PO Age Limit for OBC
For the IBPS PO exam, the age limit for candidates belonging to the OBC (Other Backward Classes) category is 20 to 33 years. The general age limit is 20 to 30 years, but OBC candidates get a relaxation of 3 years as per government norms. The candidate must have been born not earlier than a specific date (usually mentioned in the official notification) and not later than another cutoff date to be eligible. This age relaxation is applicable only if the candidate provides a valid OBC non-creamy layer certificate as per the central government rules during document verification.
IBPS PO Age Limit for SC/ST
The age limit for IBPS PO candidates belonging to the SC/ST category is 20 to 30 years as of the specified cut-off date mentioned in the official notification. However, SC/ST candidates are eligible for a relaxation of 5 years in the upper age limit, making the maximum age 35 years. IBPS PO Eligibility Criteria Credit Score 2025
However, the IBPS PO Eligibility Criteria doesn't specifically state a credit score as a formal requirement for applying for the exam. A good credit history is required for the candidates as the banks consider it for recruitment and loan purposes. While some reports suggest the IBPS mandates a minimum CIBIL score of 650 for Bank Job applicants.
