SEBI Grade A Eligibility Criteria 2024 

Age Limit & Educational Qualifications

Let's know more about the SEBI Grade A 2024 eligibility criteria for all the streams/posts here.

4.1. SEBI Grade A Officer – Age Limit 

A candidate must not have exceeded the age of 30 years as on March 31, 2024 i.e., candidate must have been born on or after April 01, 1994.Relaxation in age limits will be given as per applicable rules.

Age Relaxation

The upper age limit prescribed above will be relaxable:

  • Up to a maximum of five years for candidates belonging to a Scheduled Caste or a Scheduled Tribe if the posts are reserved for them
  • Up to a maximum of three years in the case of candidates belonging to Other Backward Classes who are eligible to avail of reservation applicable to such candidates if the posts are reserved for them.

4.2. SEBI Grade A Educational Qualifications – For All Streams

Any candidate with a Master's degree in any discipline is eligible to apply for the General post of SEBI Grade A 2022 Notification. 

StreamEducational Qualification
1. General

Master's Degree/ Post Graduate Diploma* (minimum two years' duration) in any discipline/ Bachelor's Degree in Law/ Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from a recognized University/ Institute or Chartered Accountant/ Chartered Financial Analyst/ Company Secretary/ Cost Accountant. 

*(Equivalent to a Master's Degree in that discipline as recognized by the Association of Indian Universities).

2. Legal

Mandatory Educational Qualification - Bachelor's Degree in Law from a recognized University/ Institute.

Desirable Experience - Two years post qualification experience as an Advocate (including as an associate in an Advocate's or Solicitor's Office or Law firm) after being enrolled under the Advocates Act, 1961 (25 of 1961).

3. Information TechnologyBachelor's Degree in Engineering in any branch or Bachelor's Degree in any discipline with a post graduate qualification (minimum two years' duration) in computer science/ computer application/ information technology from a recognized University / Institute.
4. Research

Master's Degree/ Post Graduate Diploma* (minimum two years' duration) in Economics/ Commerce/ Business Administration/ Econometrics/ Quantitative Economics/ Financial Economics / Mathematical Economics/ Business Economics/ Agricultural Economics/ Industrial Economics/ Business Analytics;

OR

Master's Degree/ Post Graduate Diploma* (minimum two years' duration) in Finance/ Quantitative Finance/ Mathematical Finance/ Quantitative Techniques/ International Finance/ Business Finance/ International and Trade Finance/ Project and Infrastructure Finance/ Agri. Business Finance;

OR

Master's Degree/ Post Graduate Diploma* (minimum two years' duration) in Statistics/ Mathematical Statistics/ Statistics & Informatics/ Applied Statistics & Informatics/ Data Science/ Artificial Intelligence/ Machine Learning/ Big Data Analytics; OR Master's Degree in Mathematics and one year post graduate diploma in Statistics or related subjects from a recognized University / Institute.

5. Official Language

Master's Degree in Hindi/ Hindi Translation with English as a subject at the Bachelor's Degree level

OR
Master's Degree in Sanskrit/ English/ Economics/ Commerce with Hindi as a subject at Bachelor's Degree level

OR

Master's Degree in both English and Hindi/ Hindi Translation from a recognized University / Institute.

Who can apply for SEBI Grade A exam? −

If you have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a Master's degree in any stream, you are eligible to apply for the Generalist post.

What is the Salary of SEBI Grade A Officer? +

Presently, the gross emolument including SEBI's Contribution towards National Pension Scheme (NPS), Grade Allowance, Special Allowance, Dearness Allowance, Family Allowance, Local Allowance, Learning Allowance, Special Grade Allowance, etc. at Mumbai at the minimum of this scale is approx. ₹1,49,500/- p.m. without accommodation and ₹1,11,000/- p.m. with accommodation.

Is the Exam Pattern of the 2022 SEBI Exam different from the 2024 SEBI Grade A exam? +

Since the detailed notification for SEBI Grade A is not out yet, so it cannot be confirmed right now that whether the exam pattern will be same or not. But, we will update the same once the detailed notification will be out on 13th April, 2024.
