The third stage is a Trade Test where you'll be tested on reading and dictating messages in both Hindi and English - you can't make more than 50% mistakes. Finally, there's a Computer Proficiency Test where you need to show your typing speed (1000 key depressions in 15 minutes) and basic skills in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. You must pass all stages to get selected.

For male candidates, you need to be at least 170 cm tall (this can be relaxed to 165 cm for certain categories like hill area residents and ST candidates). Your chest should measure 81 cm normally and expand to at least 85 cm (4 cm expansion). In the physical tests, you'll need to complete a 1600-meter race within 7 minutes if you're under 30, and also clear long jump (12.5 feet) and high jump (3.5 feet). For female candidates, the minimum height is 157 cm (relaxable by 5 cm for certain categories), and you need to complete an 800-meter race within 5 minutes if under 30, plus long jump (9 feet) and high jump (3 feet). You get three chances each for long jump and high jump, but there's no appeal if you're disqualified in any event.

You can apply online from September 24, 2025, to October 15, 2025 (till 11 PM) through the SSC website (ssc.gov.in) or the 'my SSC' mobile app. You'll need your 10th and 12th certificates, a scanned signature (10-20 KB, JPEG format), and any category certificates if you're from SC/ST/OBC/EWS. The good news is that you don't need to upload a photo anymore - the system will capture your live photo during the application process. The application fee is ₹100 for General and OBC candidates, but it's completely free for SC/ST candidates, women, and ex-servicemen.
