How to Apply Online for SSC CHSL (Step-by-Step)

Here, we have provided a step-by-step guide to apply for the SSC CHSL application form. It is for reference only, as the application window has already closed. The application process for SSC CHSL 2025 is divided into two stages:

  1. OTR (One-Time Registration)
  2. Online Application for CHSL 2025

PART 1: One-Time Registration (OTR)

(For first-time applicants only)

Step 1: Visit the SSC's official website: https://ssc.gov.in

Step 2: On the homepage, look for “Register Now” in the top right corner and click it.

Step 3: Fill out your basic info:

  • Your name exactly as it appears on your 10th certificate
  • Date of birth, father’s and mother’s names
  • Class 10 board, year of passing, and roll number
  • Gender, category, nationality

Step 4: Set up your login:

  • Choose a username and password you’ll remember
  • Pick a security question and write down the answer somewhere safe

Step 5: Verify your mobile number and email with the OTPs you’ll receive.

NOTE: Make sure you’re using a number and email that are yours, and that you have access to — all future communication from SSC will come here.

Step 6: Upload your:

  • Recent photo — not older than 3 months, clear, color, white background
  • Signature — on white paper with a black pen

Files should be in JPG format and under the size limit shown on screen.

Step 7: Submit everything and make sure that you got the confirmation message.

Once your registration is complete, you’ll receive a Registration ID. These are the important information or credentials, so make sure you have saved them as they will be used for login during the SSC CHSL 2025 form-filling process.

PART 2: Apply Online for SSC CHSL 2025

Once OTR is done, the next step is to fill out the actual CHSL application form.

Step 1: Return to SSC's official website and log in using your registration number and password.

Step 2: Once logged in, find and click on the "Apply" button under the "Quick Links" section.

Step 3: Enter the required details:

  • Caste category, EWS status if applicable
  • Preferences for posts (like LDC, DEO, etc.)

Step 4: Re-upload photo and signature if prompted.

Sometimes the system asks for a fresh upload during the application, or it may open the camera to take a new photo, even if you already did it during registration.

Step 5: After filling out the form, double-check everything.

What to Check: Check your name, DOB, category, and uploaded files. Mistakes here can cause problems later, especially during document verification.

Step 6: Pay the application fee:

  • ₹100 if you belong to General or OBC (male)
  • No fee if you’re SC/ST, female, PwD, or ex-servicemen

Payment can be done through:

  • UPI
  • Net banking

Step 7: Once the payment is done, you’ll get a confirmation on the screen.

Step 8: Download and save the final submitted form (PDF) and payment receipt (if you paid a fee).
