RBI Grade B 2025 Eligibility Criteria
Eligibility criteria for RBI Grade B examination are as follows:
Age Limits
A candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 30 years on Sep 01, 2025 i.e., he/she must have been born not earlier than September 02, 1995 and not later than September 01, 2004.
RBI Grade B Age Relaxation Limit:
- Up to 2 Years for M.Phil. Candidates and 4 Years for Ph.D. candidates
- Up to 3 years for OBC candidates or Non-Creamy Layer
- Up to 5 years for SC/ST candidates
- Up to 10 years for PwBD (UR), 13 years for PwBD (Person with Benchmark Disability) for OBC, and 15 years for PwBD (Person with Benchmark Disability) for SC/ST
Note: A candidate applying for RBI Grade B who has experience as an officer in commercial banks/financial institutions (Public Sector) may claim a maximum of 3-years of relaxation, excluding probation period.
Minimum Education Qualification
Officers in Grade ‘B' (DR) – (General): Interested applicant for RBI Grade B must be a Graduate in any discipline or must have an Equivalent technical or professional qualification with a minimum of 60% marks (50% for SC/ST/PwBD applicants) or a Post-Graduate or have an Equivalent technical qualification with a minimum of 55% marks (pass marks for SC/ST/PwBD applicants) in aggregate of all semesters or years.
Maximum Number of Attempts
RBI Grade B Candidates who belong to the General Category/EWSs, who have already appeared six times for Phase-I Examination for this post/s in the past, are not eligible to apply. No such restriction applies to candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/PwBD, if the posts are reserved for them.
RBI Grade B Selection Procedure
RBI Grade B Exam is conducted in 3 phases (Phase I, II & III. Phase I, or the Prelims exam, is an objective-type exam consisting of 4 sections: English Language, Logical Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, and General Awareness. Each phase acts as an elimination round, where only those candidates are allowed to appear in the Mains Examination who clear the Phase II exam. Psychometric Test & Interview (Phase III) will be the last or final stage of the exam.
RBI Grade B Phase-I Exam Pattern
RBI Grade B Phase-I exam consists of 4 sections. There is no sectional time limit. The total duration of the RBI Grade B Phase- I is of 120 minutes. There is a negative marking of ¼ for wrong answers. Given below are the distribution marks for each section:

Note:
- Candidates have to secure minimum marks separately for each test as well as aggregate, as prescribed by the Board.
- There will be a penalty for wrong answers marked by you. For every wrong answer marked by you, 1/4th of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as a penalty.
- Candidates, who secure minimum marks separately for each Test, as prescribed, will be shortlisted for RBI Grade B Phase-II of the Examination based on the aggregate marks obtained in Phase-I. The minimum aggregate cut-off marks for being shortlisted for Phase-II of the Examination will be decided by the Board in relation to the number of vacancies.
- Roll No. of the candidates shortlisted for RBI Grade B Phase-II examination will be published on the RBI website tentatively within a week after RBI Grade B Phase-I examination.
RBI Grade B Phase-II Exam Pattern 2025
RBI Grade-B Phase-II exam consists of 3 sections. You are given 90 minutes for each section of the exam, making a total time duration of 270 minutes.

Note:
@For both RBI Grade B Paper I and III, there will be 30 questions and 50 marks for Objective questions (some questions carrying 2 marks each and some carrying 1 mark each). In case of Descriptive questions, 6 questions will be asked, of which candidates will be required to attempt 4 questions (2 of 15 marks each (with difficulty level) and 2 of 10 marks each). In case, candidate answers more than 4 questions in descriptive, first 4 shall be evaluated.
All question papers (in both the RBI Grade B Phases, except the test of English) will be set bilingually in Hindi and English.
RBI Grade B Phase-III- Interview
Candidates will be shortlisted for the RBI Grade B interview, based on aggregate of marks obtained in Phase-II (Paper-I +Paper-II +Paper-III). The minimum aggregate cut off marks for being shortlisted for Interview will be decided by the Board in relation to the number of vacancies. Roll No. of the candidates shortlisted for interview will be published on RBI website at appropriate time and interview call letters will be sent on registered email ID. Interview will be of 75 marks.
Candidate shall be required to undergo Personality Assessment conducted by the Bank before appearing for the Interview, no marks will be allotted for the same, and will not form part of the final selection criteria. Candidates may opt for an interview either in Hindi or English. Final Selection will be through a merit list which will be prepared by adding marks secured by candidates in Phase- II examination and interview and grace marks as applicable as per extant rules.
RBI Grade B Salary and Benefits
RBI Grade B 2025 salary structure has witnessed a remarkable increase this year compared to the previous year, making it one of the most attractive government banking positions in India. The basic pay has been substantially raised from ₹55,200 to ₹78,450 per month, representing a 42% increase. Because of this the gross salary has increased from approximately ₹1.22 lakh to ₹1.50 lakh. The revised pay scale is ₹78,450–4,050(9)–1,14,900–EB–4,050(2)–1,23,000–4,650(4)–1,41,600 over 16 years. With this increase, the annual CTC ranges between ₹27-30 lakh in metropolitan cities, while the in-hand salary varies from ₹1.08-1.12 lakh monthly after deductions.
RBI Grade B Admit Card
RBI Grade B admit card will be released 15 days before the exam. Once the RBI Grade B admit card has been released by RBI, the candidate can download the admit card from the official website of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) i.e, rbi.org.in. For the posts of Officer in Grade-B DR (General) and Grade-B DR (DEPR/DSIM) the admit card exam will be released separately for both the RBI Grade B posts.
All the candidates can download RBI Grade B Phase 1 & Phase 2 Exam Admit Cards using their credentials, like application ID and password, which were generated at the time of registration. To download the RBI Grade B Admit Card, the candidate must have Registration Number/Roll Number and D.O.B./Password
