RBI Grade B Job Responsibilities
RBI has central office located at Mumbai and regional offices located mostly at State Capitals (for eg. New Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai, Dehradun etc). There are more than 30 departments in the RBI each one of which has 4-5 sections. And in each section there are 4-5 sub sections. The central office mainly supervises and coordinates between the different departments of regional offices. The duties & responsibilities of an RBI Grade B Officer will depend on which department one is placed. Below are some duties/responsibilities of an RBI Grade B Officer posted in the central office:
- To inspect the allocated banks on a timely basis with respect to cash vault, KYC AML guidelines, credit appraisal system, IT policy, overall security, functioning of the Board of Directors, adherence to different RBI circulars, etc.
- To write the inspection report and to prepare the bank's balance sheet as per RBI's format by calculating various Financial parameters like CRAR, Gross NPA, Net NPA, Gross Profit/Loss, Net Interest Margin, Forex Exposure, CRR, SLR, etc.
- To rate the bank as per CAMELS.
RBI Grade B Salary and Benefits
RBI Grade B 2025 salary structure has witnessed a remarkable increase this year compared to the previous year, making it one of the most attractive government banking positions in India. The basic pay has been substantially raised from ₹55,200 to ₹78,450 per month, representing a 42% increase. Because of this the gross salary has increased from approximately ₹1.22 lakh to ₹1.50 lakh. The revised pay scale is ₹78,450–4,050(9)–1,14,900–EB–4,050(2)–1,23,000–4,650(4)–1,41,600 over 16 years. With this increase, the annual CTC ranges between ₹27-30 lakh in metropolitan cities, while the in-hand salary varies from ₹1.08-1.12 lakh monthly after deductions.
